Yessirree bob! LETTER from the WHITE HOUSE! And it was a few words about President Obama's thoughts on his choice for the Supreme Court. And, while I appreciate his candor and upfrontness with me (and anyone else that wrote an e-mail to the President) but, I stand here wondering...is he totally lost to the politics, now?
Does he get to say anything of value anymore? I m,ean, about things we'de like to hear about, that is. Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm ready to work. Ready to go get 'em tiger any time. But, some of the wrong things are happenning. The transportation industry as a whole really sucks at this business of giving us what we need. Big vehicles are STILL coming off lines, still being sold to people who have more money than common sense. And, who can blame them? Billions of dollars are being assigned to keeping the major highways up to standard for just such vehicles. And am I understanding this correctly? Exxon/Mobil reigned in a $42 billion dollar profit? And are number ONE in the Fortune 500 companies.... (http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/fortune500/2009/snapshots/387.html) In fact, as far as cars, trucks, and buses go? The housing market has nothing on the scale of these rascals! I mean, c'mon! Lose value when you drive it off the lot? And danged if they don't have US saying it, too, and for whatever reason, agreeing with them about the concept. Bunch'a shysters if you ask me.
But then there's a strange edge of that coin, too. I saw Cinda today, and she's worried about "Obama getting the government to own everything" and of course, this is a direct link to the car manufacturing sector... Wrong. Sorry, but, there's no way any sane group would buy the car manufacturing companies as they are set up today. First off, it's a horse and buggy industry. Sorry to mention that, but,m it IS a horse and buggy industry, and in fact, the funny thing is, the horse and buggies will come back after cars have stilled their tired little selves into carhenges everywhere. CARHENGE. National competition to produce the most unique version of Stonehenge, only use cars instead of rocks.
OK, well, that being said...my ever so volatile hatred of business running the government (no way the other way around) there is one matter that I DO like.
I got my letter from the White House today explaining his stand. I wonder how many other presidents have gone that far to increase transparency?
Bravo, President Obama! Bravo!
(and now, could you just legalize pot, saving our deficit between $9 BILL. to $12 BILL a year fighting the pot war.... ending, for the most part, the Mexican/USA border disputes (There won't be any traffic after a few months, folks just throw the seeds on the ground, it's theirs if they want it).... emptying anywhere from 35% to 55% of our prisons of folks who only used the product, or grew it to use.... creating a new industry of cloth making (hemp) and that would employ thousands of people (designers, seamstresses, processing) as well as create new retail items from hats, coats, shirts, pants, boots.... Please?) |
