Voter Fraud Claims Debunked: Data Expert (Hired by Trump) Publishes New Book, ‘Disproven’

Trump’s own expert thoroughly debunked his voter fraud claims with irrefutable evidence, but will MAGA nation listen?

WARWICK, R.I. — Looking back on the day he signed the contract with Donald Trump’s second presidential campaign, Ken Block says, “I had no idea then how finding so little would lead to so much.” His new book has thoroughly debunked Trump’s claims of voter fraud.

Disproven, voter fraud debunkedThe day after the 2020 presidential election, a lawyer for former U.S. President Donald Trump’s campaign called Block, a registered Republican and former gubernatorial candidate in Rhode Island, and asked if his firm, Simpatico Software Systems, would look for voter fraud. Block knew somebody was going to do it—and he knew he could do it honestly, rigorously, and impartially. So, he took the job.

In Disproven: My Unbiased Search for Voter Fraud for the Trump Campaign, the Data that Shows Why He Lost, and How We Can Improve Our Elections (Forefront Books; March 12, 2024), Block describes what happened next—including another unexpected phone call early in the morning of February 23, 2023. “There is never a good time to receive a call from the FBI,” Block says. The phone call was followed by three subpoenas.

The Trump campaign had hired Block to find fraud that would overturn the actual election results and put Trump back in the White House. What Block found and turned over to prosecutors debunked his false claims, and may actually help put Trump in prison.

Disproven details the work Block did for the Trump campaign, what he did and didn’t find, and the Trump supporters who kept claiming fraud. It’s a sharp look at how our 50 states “manage to bring chaos to our federal elections,” according to Block, and how the broad differences in voting regulations, data quality, and even exemptions from federal election laws, create a tangled web of problems that threaten our democracy.

Disproven offers suggestions of how new federal laws might fix things. “I am an optimist,” he writes, but he is also a realist and remains dedicated to this work. “My involvement in these matters will continue until these cases end.” Among Block’s suggestions:

  • Transparency: Make every state’s electronic voter registration database available on demand to the public.
  • Redistricting: All states should be required to implement independent redistricting commissions balanced between Democrats, Republicans, and unaffiliated members.
  • Early Voting: Set a national in-person early voting window of 10 days.
  • Automatic Voter Registration: Create an automatic, national voter registration system that issues a voter registration number when an individual is given a Social Security number.
  • No Excuse Mail-in Ballots: Allow anyone to vote by mail. They do not need a reason like poor health or out-of-state travel to qualify.

Disproven is a stunning look inside one of the most highly contested presidential elections in American history and required reading for anyone passionate about maintaining the election system upon which American democracy stands.
